2007 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought

This year’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought will be awarded to Sudanese human rights lawyer Salih Mahmoud Osman. Mr. Salih will receive the Sakharov award at a ceremony during the Parliament’s Strasbourg plenary sitting on Tuesday 11 December streamed live over the web. The annual award is the centrepiece of Parliament’s efforts to highlight individuals who put their own lives or freedom on the line in the fight for human dignity.
