Rwanda genocide, the saga continues

Reports from Rwanda suggest that President Paul Kagame is telling people that they must dig up the victims of the genocide committed 15 years ago, and to bring them a centralized locations for burial.

If the family does not bring the bodies, the government will dig them up and re-locate them without telling the family where they are being buried, a person familiar with the situation told EUX.TV.

“The speculation is that he is trying to create more memorials so that there would be more reminders and more tourist attractions like the Genocide Memorial in Kigali,” said a person familiar with today’s political reality in Rwanda.

“The Rwandans feel that Kagame is trying to open up all of the old wounds,” the person said. “Our friends who lost family members are very upset.”
