Intel Fined $1.45 Bln in EU Antitrust Case

EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes tells a press conference in Brussels that she has decided to slap a record fine of 1.06 billion euro ($1.45 billion) on the world’s biggest chip maker Intel Inc. for having abused its market position at the expense of consumers.

Intel says there has been “zero harm” to consumers and that it will appeal the decision.
