One Injured in New Berlaymont Incident: Brussels Fire Chief

An officer in the Brussels fire department talks to journalists about the reasons for the second evacuation of the European Commission’s Berlaymont in nine days. One person was treated for burn injuries, he says, after steam or hot water sprayed out of a leaking pipe of the heating system on the 13th floor. The leak appears to be related to the May 18 fire in the building. The Berlaymont only opened again on Monday.
