Swedish Pirates Enter EU Parliament

Sweden’s Pirate Party got 7.1% of Swedish votes in the 2009 European Parliament elections, which will result in one seat in the European parliament, two if the Lisbon Treaty goes into effect.

Piratpartiet strives to reform laws regarding copyright and patents. The agenda also includes support for a strengthening of the right to privacy, both on the Internet and in everyday life, and the transparency of state administration. More background
