Major Victory for Wilders in European Elections

This is how the first results of exit polls were reported on Dutch public television on Thursday evening, showing major losses for the ruling christian-democrat CDA and social-democrat PvdA, with major gains for Geert Wilders’ PVV party, which leaped from zero to four seats in the European Parliament.

PVV has campaigned in the Netherlands on a promise to fight for the closure of the European Parliament. It also has promised voters to keep Turkey out of the European Union.
