Rehn calls for deeper surveillance of national economic policies in euro area

Europe’s new commissioner for Economic and Monetary affairs, Olli Rehn, calls for an urgent and deeper surveillance of national economic policies in eurozone countries, in the wake of the crisis caused by the Greek government, which hid the extent of its debt crisis from its fellow eurozone members. Luxembourg PM and finance chief Jean-Claude Juncker, also President of the Eurogroup, also comments.
