As crisis hits, EESC considers role of education in fight against social exclusion

As the European Union attempts to come to grip with its worst financial crisis since its creation, the European Economic and Social Committee hosts a three-day conference in Florence, Italy, on the relation between education and social exclusion.

Talking in this report are Anna Diamantopoulou, Greek education minister; Fintan Farrell, director of the European anti-poverty network and Josep Borrell, president of the European University Institute in Florence and former president of the European Parliament.
