Barroso suggests Wikileaks does not serve public interest

Wikileaks documents tagged “EU” www.wikileaks.nl European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso on Tuesday said that the European Commission ‘is not a tribunal’ when responding to a question on the arrest of Julian Assange, the Australian journalist behind the headline making Wikilweaks whistle blower site. Earlier in his speech Barroso said that while freedom of Information is important, some information is sensitive and it is not in the public interest that it is widely accessible.
