At a debate held in the Eurtopean Parliament on the Europe 2020 strategy, and the economic reform measures needed achieve targets the strategy sets out, have been accused of ‘breaking the social pact’ Europe has with it’s citizens through measures such as later retirement ages, cuts to welfare and the minimum wage. The Socialist and democrat group in the EP made the remark.
