Lebanese Ambassador Nawaf Salam said today that the request by the Arab League is “legitimate and necessary” in order to “stop the violence, put an end to the deteriorating situation and protect civilians.” He was speaking about a NO fly zone resolution tabled by Lebanon, on behalf of the Arab League, but admitted the consequences of such action remains difficult to predict.
