A spokesman for the UN on politcal affairs, Oscar Fernandez Taranco has labelled Israel’s decision to grant permits for further settlments on disputed territory in Ras al-Amud as being ‘provocative actions’. According to Mr Taranco Israel could aid in stabilizing the Middle East, if they met the ‘legitimate’ aspirations of the Palestininans
