Merkel, Sarkozy, Barroso, Van Rompuy arrive for euro crisis talks

Looking like he already has been without sleep for 48 hours, French President Nicolas Sarkozy arrived on Saturday at the European Council building in Brussels for an extra meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Council President Herman van Rompuy and EU Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso. Making a rare statement to journalists as he walked into the building, Sarkozy said he the upcoming EU summit talks are ‘crucial’ and will have to generate an agreement to solve the euro crisis by Wednesday. EU leaders from all 27 member states will meet in Brussels from Sunday morning.
