Raymond Frenken

Since 1990, Raymond Frenken has worked as an international business journalist in Europe, where has covered, among other issues, for two decades the political process that led to the creation of the euro.

His writing has appeared in The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, the Financial Times, the South China Morning Post, the Washington Post and other leading international publications.

He was Energy Correspondent for Dow Jones Newswires in London; senior correspondent and bureau chief for Bloomberg News in Amsterdam, Zurich and Paris; senior editor for FTMarketWatch.com, and senior editor for Het Financieele Dagblad in Amsterdam.

Born in the Netherlands, he holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and economics from Tilburg and has studied Film & Television Studies at the John Logie Baird Centre of Strathclyde University in Glasgow.

As a pioneer in European media and journalism, Raymond Frenken during the 1990s helped Bloomberg News establish itself in Europe, setting up multimedia bureaus in Amsterdam, Zurich and Paris. As Europe Correspondent for the global CNBC business news channel between 2001 and 2006, he covered key European economic and corporate news developments from Brussels and helped CNBC Europe successfully expand its niche in European television business news. Giving in to his rare entrepreneurial drive as a European, he founded in EUX.TV as an European news channel in 2006.
