Geremek Agora: Polish Liberal MEP remembered

Bronislow Geremek, a Polish liberal, was once named as a possible president of the European Parliament, but that did not happen because of some behind-the-scenes deals between the EPP group (which includes the Christian-democrats and the British conservatives) and the PSE group (the European socialists and social-democrats).

Geremek was killed in a car crash in Poland in 2008 and now has been honored by having the main courtyard at the European parliament in Strasbourg named after him.
