Snows of Kilimanjaro wins EP LUX prize

“Les neiges du Kilimandjaro” by Robert Guédiguian on Wednesday won the LUX Cinema Prize for 2011. President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek,announced the winner during a plenary chamber ceremony in Strasbourg. Speaking during a European parliament debate on Wednesday in Strasbourg, president of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, called for a more integrated economic union. Van Rompuy suggested that there is a need for ” harmonization in a certain areas such as taxation or even some social field”. He also added that a greater governance is possible within the limits of the current treaty.
